Strategic impact vs. pure output. Insights from the Scompler session

In our latest Data & Insights Experts interest group session, we delved into the mechanics of modern communication. Under the title “Beyond Output – Rethinking Communication and AI”, Maximilian Miguletz (Director Strategic Communication at Scompler) showed us why the industry is in danger of winning the “wrong game”.
The key question: Are we really still communicating or are we just “publishing” at high speed?
The “golden nuggets” of the session:
- Publishing is not the same as communication: while publishing primarily generates output in the form of volume and speed, real communication aims to create clarity, understanding and trust. Maximilian emphasized: “Publishing is a tool, communication is the goal.
- The trap of the content explosion: In recent years, communication has been optimized for reach and channel complexity. But while the amount of content is exploding, human attention remains a limited resource. The result: decreasing resonance despite increasing output.
- Speed meets strategy: Real impact is created where high speed (driven by AI) meets a crystal-clear strategic focus. Without strategy, AI and automation merely generate “noise”.
- Systematically combining strategy and execution: Scompler’s “Origin Story” shows that even excellent strategies often fail due to operational implementation. A systematic management framework is needed to translate data into strategic relevance.
- Role of AI: Technology makes creation faster and easier, but it doesn’t take the strategic thinking out of our hands. We need to use AI to strengthen the positioning and role of communication, rather than just sending more “performance content” into the ether.
Conclusion for our community: Data must not just be used to make the content machine spin faster. We need to use data to ensure strategic connectivity. Only those who take on an orientation function in the company through valid insights will secure their long-term weight in the management circle.
