RYZE: AI in internal communication

Digitalization is having a significant impact on internal communication, particularly as a result of the pandemic. Now artificial intelligence is moving into focus, with tools such as ChatGPT or Midjourney dominating discussions about opportunities and risks. The study “Trendmonitor hybride IK 2024” examines the effects of digitalization and the use of AI. Based on an online survey of 154 communication professionals conducted between July 16 and October 16, 2023, it shows the status quo of the digital media landscape, impact measurement and the use of AI in internal communication. The aim is to identify trends and support communication managers in adapting their strategies.

The results show: The majority of respondents use AI solutions for automated text creation and translation. Only 13 percent state that they do not use any AI tools at all in their day-to-day work. At the same time, data protection concerns are perceived as a major challenge when using AI (83%). In terms of the greatest potential for AI in internal communication, 86 percent cite the area of text and content creation, followed at a clear distance by topic identification and planning (53 percent). Participants rated the potential for controlling (19 percent) and community management and dialog (12 percent) as the lowest.
