Many communication departments are still discussing tools. Yet AI has long since changed the entire operating system of communication
Internal communication without an intranet is almost unimaginable today. But hardly any other channel polarizes so strongly. For some it is the indispensable single source of truth, for others it is a digital black hole full of unread content. At the latest meeting of the AG CommTech IK interest group, communication managers openly discussed where intranets really stand today – beyond tool promises, buzzwords and wishful thinking. The result: no patent remedy, but clear areas of tension, recurring patterns and uncomfortable truths.

André Pechmann: The coming months will be crucial for the use of AI and AI agents. New functions are constantly being released, such as the new Copilot Tasks: Microsoft 365 Copilot can use this to independently operate a wide variety of programs on the PC to carry out certain tasks at set times. This is just one example of how AI is now acting more and more autonomously, and that is the big trend.
