Reference books: The sustainability code

In a time of multiple crises – from climate change and social inequality to global market uncertainties – companies are facing the challenge of redefining their corporate value. Traditional growth paradigms are reaching their limits: instead of pure sales growth, the focus is shifting to sustainability, resilience and long-term value creation. This is precisely where Predictive Sustainability Intelligence (PSI) comes in – a forward-looking, sustainability-oriented data analysis that uses artificial intelligence and big data to identify environmental, social and economic developments at an early stage and derive options for action. This allows risks to be managed proactively and at the same time opens up new opportunities to increase the company’s value.

In this book, Uwe Seebacher and Jörg Forthmann show what predictive sustainability intelligence is, how it can be successfully implemented and how this AI application helps to establish sustainability in such a way that it demonstrably increases corporate value. The result is a concrete playbook for practical implementation in 2026 – with a structured implementation plan and concrete assistance for decision-makers in companies.

  • Introduction and conceptual foundations: What Predictive Sustainability Intelligence (PSI) is all about
  • How AI and big data make environmental, social and economic developments visible at an early stage
  • From proactive risk management to a measurable increase in company value – ESG management with PSI
  • A structured implementation plan for practice and the four key success factors
  • Organizational requirements, change management, ethical aspects and an outlook
