CommTech Summit 2025

Review – The CommTech Summit 2025

This year’s CommTech Summit was a special event that impressively underlined its role as a leading platform for the digitalization of corporate communications. Even the location in the Erich Schott Center of SCHOTT AG in Mainz gave the event an extraordinary atmosphere that conveyed inspiration and a spirit of optimism right from the start. This energy characterized the entire day. The presentations and impulses of the almost thirty speakers generated enthusiasm and made it clear that the communications industry is in a phase of active renewal.

This was also reflected in the high demand. With over 250 registered participants, the CommTech Summit was completely sold out and thus bigger than ever before. This popularity illustrates the growing importance of CommTech in organizations and the need for orientation and joint further development.

One highlight was the presentation of the CommTech Index Report, which measures the status of digitalization in communications departments and PR agencies. This year, the index lost seven percentage points to just 38 out of 100 points. The decline can be explained by the so-called red queen effect. It describes the challenge for the industry to keep pace with technological developments.

In the breakout sessions, these insights were supplemented by a variety of perspectives that covered all facets of CommTech. The participants discussed specific use cases, best practices and new solutions that support the strategic expansion of data-driven communication.

Overall, the CommTech Summit 2025 made it clear that communications departments are in the midst of a transformation process. The rapid development of AI, automation and digital infrastructure is forcing them to redefine their role in the organization. This results in a clear mandate for the CommTech working group. Particularly in the organization and processes cluster, it is important to actively consider the future positioning of the communication function and provide practical models for the industry.

The AG CommTech would like to thank everyone who took part! The next events are already being planned.
